Park Day

We enjoyed a wonderful day at Lee Victory Park in Smyrna. We played, enjoyed hot dogs and snow cones, and got really tired and dirty in the process. A great big THANK YOU to the Frasier family for the yummy food!! We had tons of fun just hanging out with all our friends and enjoying the beautiful day! It was a great way to celebrate the end of our year in 2nd grade and all of our hard work! The first graders and several parents were able to join us too. 

Only 4 more half days of 2nd grade!!!

It Happens Every Spring 

We had a great time at Field day on Monday! It was a beautiful day and we got to spend time outdoors playing some really fun games!

Next Friday is Park Day! We will be spending some fun time together celebrating the end of 2nd grade! Let's hope for another beautiful day. It is also our last full day of school!

MAY 14-17 are half days with dismissal at 11am.

May 16th is Awards Day. you will be notified by email if your student is receiving an award. If you do not receive an email, your child will not be receiving an award that day. Awards are given for Academics, AR, Perfect Attendance,  Citizenship, Bible, and Specialty classes. The program will begin at 9:15 in the Middle School Gym. 

On May 14th we will have our end of the year party. Some of our parents have some exciting things planned! It is going to be an event!

We had an awesome time and raised a lot of money for our school!

We hope you were able to come out Monday night and check out the amazing Art Show. Each student had wonderful works on display and some framed and matted available for purchase. It was a very impressive sight to behold. A great big thank you to our art teacher Mrs. Ramsey!!!

Happy April!

We had a great trip to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. We enjoyed the Splash, Flash field study and got to play and explore all the cool exhibits.

Remember to keep on getting pledges for our Castle Quest fun run. Spring Sprint will be on Friday followed by our Family Picnic. We hope you are all planning to attend. Thank you for all your hard work bringing in all those pledges to help our school!

Castle Quest has begun!

By now you know we are raising money for our school. Our Spring Sprint this year has a great theme-Castle Quest. Each day we will be learning a new character word and Bible verse along with being challenged to gather pledges for our run. There will also be a family picnic on April 6. We hope you are planning to attend. Your student should have worn home a crown on Wednesday after our kick off pep rally with all of the important details for collecting pledges for our run on April 6th. Be looking for lots more information in emails and flyers from the school.

Welcome back! 

Hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! 

Only nine more weeks of 2nd grade left and so much more learning to do!

We had a great field trip to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts just before our break. The students really enjoyed the artwork by Nick Cave and the chance to create on their own.

 
The next nine weeks are going to be very busy. We have so much to do before our time together runs out. Here are a few upcoming events:

A very special Congratulations to Kirsten Williams for earning 2nd place in the Secretary of State's Civics Essay Contest. She wrote an essay about being a good citizen that was chosen from many essays from all over the state. She got to spend the day at the state capitol and serve as a page in the Senate.

Way to go Kirsten! We are proud of you!

February 20, 2018

We enjoyed a day off for President's Day but are back at work today. We are working hard to finish out the last few weeks of the 3rd term before Spring Break! 

Don't forget to re-enroll for next year! Early re-enrollment is going on NOW through March 2nd. Beginning March 3rd enrollment will be open to all new students. Be sure to save your spot! We hope to see everyone back next year!!

Yearbook personalization forms are due February 23rd!!

BOX TOPS should be turned in by February 27th!!

Cookie Dough should be arriving on February 27th. Everyone did a great job during this fundraiser!!

Mrs. Jones's class: Scholastic Book Orders are due by February 28th! Fliers are being sent home this afternoon! Thanks in advance for any orders, they get us new books for our classroom!

On March 20th there will be an informational meeting concerning a proposed bus route from the Smyrna/LaVergne area for next year! It will be held at the LaVergne Church of Christ at 6 pm. If you are interested in transportation for your student you don't want to miss this meeting!


SPRING BREAK is March 5-9!!
