 BARNYARD MOOSICAL

The Kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders did a fantastic job in Barnyard Moosical last Thursday night.. Our Music teacher, Mrs. Shannon, did a great job showcasing their talents. After weeks of practice and lots of hard work, they entertained the audience with songs about a very unusual farm.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What a busy week it has been in 2nd grade!
We have wrapped up our units on Native Americans and Pilgrims, practiced on stage for our upcoming musical, visited the Children's Theater, and eaten two Thanksgiving Feasts!

We saw The Little Mermaid at The Children's Theater. We watched a fun video and learned the steps to the Under the Sea dance that the actors did on stage. We made our very own merpeople spinners.

On Thursday we shared a Thanksgiving feast with our sweet Pre-K book buddies from Mrs. Gibson's and Ms. Martin's classes.

On Friday we shared a feast with Mrs. Chandler's first graders. Everyone brought lots of yummy food to share and we had a wonderful time visiting with each other. We sang a song about our blessings and shared what we were thankful for.

NEXT WEEK IS THANKSGIVING BREAK!!

Walden Pumpkin Farm Field Trip

Walden Pumpkin Farm

We had a beautiful day for our field trip to Walden Farm. We got to spend some time together playing on the playground, visiting the animals, and going through the hay maze. We got to go on a hayride and search for things hidden along they way. All of us got to choose a pumpkin to bring home.
It was a great trip!

BATS
Also this week we have been studying bats in our reading stories and in science. We have learned many facts about bats and the way they live. We learned that they use their sense of smell to locate their babies. They can tell them apart from other bats' babies by the way they smell. We tried this out with an experiment to see if we could find our "bat baby" using our sense of smell. We found out it was harder than it looked!

Vocabulary Parade 2018
Today was our 7th annual Vocabulary Parade. We got to dress up as vocabulary words. After showing off our words in the gym in front of the entire lower school, family, and friends, we paraded to the upper school to show off our words to the students and teachers there.
It was a lot of fun! The costumes were  creative and all of us learned some new words!
