Wildlife on Wheels Visit
Today we had a real treat. The wonderful Wildlife on Wheels program from the Nashville Zoo paid us a visit to teach us about conservation and protecting some really amazing animals.
We even got to see several animals up close and personal in our classroom!

Building Solomon's Temple

We have a lot of fun today building our versions of Solomon's Temple. We have been studying the story of king Solomon in our Bible class for the past few weeks. Students were asked to form a plan, brainstorm with their partners, and work together to build a temple. They discussed what parts of their designs worked and what things they might change. It was a great way to wrap up the week!

Look at our gardens grow!

The 2nd graders have been busy working on our garden boxes. We have talked about different kinds of plants and the steps needed to plant a garden. We are weeding and watering almost daily. The sun has been hot and we are observing how this affects our plants!

Grandparents' Day is Friday, September 14th. We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate these very special family members. We are working on some writings, art projects, and family trees.
Remember family tree posters are due next Tuesday. The children are very excited about this project.
