HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I am very thankful for all of my second graders and their families! I hope you will have a very safe and enjoyable holiday with your families! I will see you back on Monday, November 28th!
CHRISTMAS is right around the corner!
We will be doing a service project for Christmas. I have a very dear friend who teaches in a low income school. Last year we provided school supplies to help them have enough to get through the school year. Teachers have to buy their own supplies for the students. If you are out shopping next week and can pick up some school supplies to help our class service project that would be wonderful. I like for my students to know that they can make a difference in the world by helping someone in need even if they are 7 and 8 years old. The school supplies that are needed are: pencils, crayons, glue sticks, folders with or without brads, paper towels, facial tissues, Lysol wipes, dry erase markers, construction paper, and hand sanitizer. I will send a letter out after the holidays.
For our Christmas party gift- this is what we will do: parents will send a wrapped present for your child to open. It is a secret so please do not tell them. You know them better than anyone else! You will mark the gift from (put their name). They will think they are bringing a gift to exchange but they will receive the gift they bring. Try not to spend over $7.00. We will have a Christmas brunch. Our room mom committee will be sending information out after the Thanksgiving holidays.
I just wanted you to know what will be coming in case you wanted to plan ahead over Thanksgiving!
